Yesterda, March 9th 2022, State Senator Ed Kennedy toured the Youth Innovation Space at Project Learn along with State Representative Tom Golden and State Representative Vanna Howard. The Youth Innovation Space will provide students with a welcoming and supportive community space and create opportunities for Lowell youth to imagine, design, and build new learning opportunities. Located at 58 Prescott Street in downtown Lowell, Project LEARN’s Youth Innovation Space programs will provide:
-Real-world career exploration, skill-building, and work experiences
-College, career, and life planning experiences for both youth and their families
-Meaningful connections to college and career professionals
-Authentic youth-leadership experiences
Since 2014, Project Learn has exposed more than 2,800 Lowell High School students to career speakers; place 180 students in paid pre-professional internships; provide 475 students with intensive, hands-on learning in skills. Additionally, Project Learn has expanded free early college programming to thousands of high school students, who have earned nearly 4,500 college credits, saving them and their families more than $1.1 million in tuition costs.
